SEMINAR ON CAD MODELING FOR JEWELRY USING RHINOJEWEL

Jewelry Design starts with the creation of a conceptual sketch. This sketch can be translated into a master model either by hand carving using wax which is the traditional approach or can be modeled using 3D CAD software’s further to which a master model can be generated either by using a CNC or a RP machine which is the modern approach.  Rapid Prototyping  (RP) technologies work on the principle of additive manufacturing. The 3D Model is build layer by layer with a primary build material & a support material that basically helps in supporting overhands during printing.
After the model is built, the support material is removed by a variety of processes depending upon the type of RP technology used.

The fundamental advantages of using CAD/CAM are as follows:
1) Greater precision in features with symmetry.
2) Control over metal weight.
3) Faster production times.
4) Greater complexity in design could be achieved.
